Six weekly peer-led sessions exploring all areas of living with HIV, Self-Management Groups are a fantastic way to increase client’s ability to improve and maintain their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
SHAPES trained peer-facilitators, who are themselves living with HIV, help participants develop coping skills to deal with the challenges related to a HIV diagnosis. The groups also provide opportunities to improve social networks and offer practical advice on adherence to medication, working with professionals, pain and stress management, disclosure and the law, and how to live well with HIV.
