SHAPES offers a wide range of free peer support, advocacy and information services for Camden and Islington residents to help them better manage all aspects of their diagnosis, care and life with HIV.
PEER MENTORING
One-to-one support with trained volunteers over approximately 6 sessions, addressing issues identified by the service user including understanding a new diagnosis, treatments, sexual health, relationships and talking to others about HIV. Sign Up Now
1-2-1 PEER CASE WORK
Peer-led provision of intensive support, information, mentoring, advocacy and referrals. Working through and meeting co-created SMART goals. Sign Up Now
TARGETED GROUPS
Work with smaller groups, providing an opportunity to deliver enhanced needs-based support for those with specific and complex needs. These interactive sessions allow us to focus on specific issues determined by clients and professionals such as: Getting Older with HIV; Getting Back to Work; Hep C and HIV; ChemSex; Substance Misuse; Managing Side Effects and Drug Interventions; and Healthy Sex Life. MONTHLY PEER SUPPORT GROUPS
SHAPES provides opportunities for people livign with HIV to meet and establish peer networks. Workshops promote wellbeing and self-management, and are tailored to the needs of communities including women, heterosexual men and women, gay men, African communities and those aged 50+. Sign Up Now
YOUNG PEOPLE’S SERVICE
Run by young peers, supporting those aged 16 to 24 transitioning through to adult care and likely to drop out of services. Young people will be engaged at the teen clinic at Mortimer Market, other centres across London including the 900 clinic at St Mary’s Hospital, the largest specialist transition clinic in London.
